About this deal

Specifically designed to provide an improved key to smooth surfaces prior to plastering. Contains a fine aggregate to provide a mechanical key. Ideal for use on plasterboard, laminate, particle board, high gloss melamine and ceramic tiles. You mean apart from being pink, rollering on fast, going much further & taking half the skim to cover? Modem artex is softer than old asbestos stuff or the artex in the 80s and 90s with no asbestos. They started to use modern glues and didn't need to be mixed with warm water and was not great if you did use cold water. I still used warm water at the time as melted the glues it seemed with better binding.

Plastering is considered an art form by many, requiring expert precision and finesse to achieve the perfect finish, something which can only be achieved if the correct surface preparation is carried out beforehand. Gardz etc is for painting onto plaster before decoration, not before plastering and its not at all cheap and has no benefit over using pva.

Thst said, it should help you with the biggest problem with skimming artex which is that the water in the skim can soften the artex and make it come away from the ceiling which usually happens just as you are trowling up. Blue grit kills the suction preventing this but this means you will have to wait longer for your first coat to firm up enough to put a second coat on. second question- I applied The blue grit. The next day I had an accident and now cannot work for 8 weeks. When I’m able to work again I’m planning to use multi finish but should I apply another layer Of blue grit before plastering because of the months in between? These types of products are ideal for repair, maintenance and improvement projects where difficult surfaces are likely to be encountered and are a perfect solution in tiled bathroom or kitchen areas where the removing of old tiles could cause costly damage to the existing wall behind. Having the option of leaving these tiles in place is a solution which is welcomed by many in the trade however it should be remembered that tiles cannot be directly applied to the bonding agent so it is essential that the surface is skimmed before any further work takes place.
