About this deal

Say you, like most people, are afraid of public speaking, but your job frequently requires it. Maybe you find a workaround – such as having a coworker present in meetings –or simply avoid any voluntary public speaking.

Ford “there is joy in work. There is no happiness except the realization that we have accomplished something I’d always prefer to be friends with someone, but if they’re not interested, then I consider being enemies the next best option. Why? Because if you hate me, you’re more likely to talk about me.” 50 CentIt all boils down to a simple truth: Fear isn’t the problem. Getting comfortable with fear is the problem. As a person who’s not into gangbanger music, this has changed my mind on who, & how this music is merely a tool to get from A to B. You should never feel like the world owes you anything. It doesn’t. There is no version of hustling harder or smarter that involves relying on the assumption that someone is going to do anything for you. You must accept that it’s all on you.” 50 Cent These days internships seem to get a bad rap. Many young people complain internship as exploitative. Some even want to make unpaid internships illegal.

Don’t look at failure as something you need to distance yourself from. Try to embrace it instead. Wrap your hands around it and examine it. Believe that you can use it to rebuild your idea and take it to an even higher level than you’d originally conceived. That’s the approach all true winners take.” 50 Cent

After you finish this book, you might only take a few principles with you. Even just one. That’s fine. That was the case when I read Robert’s 48 Laws of Power. Ask me today what that book was about and all I can really tell you is ‘As the student, never outshine the master’”.

When I get in I’m already feeling fully in control, energized, and mentally prepared. It’s the only way to show up at the office if you want to make things happen.” 50 Cent I believe a true star must possess four fundamental abilities: create great material, be a high-energy live performer, have a unique appearance, and possess a strong personality.” 50 Cent No matter what you do, or what your field, there is someone else great in it, too. So instead of believing your own hype, identify that individual and make them your competition.” 50 Cent

Fear nothing and you shall succeed”, Curtis 50 Cent Jason builds on this message in “Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter” by getting personal on this journey from tragic personal loss to thriving businessman and cable’s highest-paid executive. From your top lieutenant to the lowest person on the totem pole, you need to be able to articulate not only where you need that person to go, but also the steps they should follow to get there.” 50 Cent Finally, just do the thing. Preparation and counsel are important, but eventually you have to take the leap. Overpreparing is just another way of avoiding, so rip off the bandage and make it happen.

Sure, you’ve found a safe, comfortable way of existing. But you won’t advance, and people who are less qualified than you may get promoted faster because of their willingness to do what you’re too afraid to confront.

I loved the fact that 50 was a bit vulnerable in this book and explained his insecurities and how he overcame them to for example becoming fearless (he started boxing at age 12 and was training with 16-17 years old teenagers). If you want to be a writer, you have to take notes on every author you read. If you want to be a chef, every time you eat a meal at a restaurant, you have to be thinking about how your competition works with flavors, texture, presentation, and ingredients. If you want to be an ad executive, you just can’t walk past a poster on the subway platform. You have to study every poster, supermarket sales display, and bus wrap that you see and make note of what’s catching your attention and what doesn’t hold your eye.
