About this deal

Suttons strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Petal blight, leaf spots, powdery mildew, rust, and root rot are the most common azalea diseases. Planting in areas with good drainage and conserving water by applying mulch usually helps reduce the chances of fungal diseases and plant damage due to these problems. Choosing Azalea Plants Climate: Azaleas grow well in most parts of Australia, from Brisbane to Perth and south, but are at their best in cool to temperate areas. Getting started Deciduous – Deciduous azaleas lose their leaves in fall. They include species native to North America, Europe, and Asia. Flowers are usually tubular. The seeds typically germinate in two to six weeks. Thin them out and space them out at least two inches apart.

Evergreen – Evergreen azaleas keep some of their leaves over winter. These are mostly species from Japan and other parts of Asia. They have several different flower forms. A popular patented evergreen variety is the Encore azalea, which blooms multiple times in a single year. The dripline is an imaginary circle that extends from the furthest branch tip all the way around the plant. Use this as a guide when digging up young shrubs – root growth is typically contained within the dripline.Insert the lower third of each stem into a small container filled with a moist rooting medium, such as a combination of one-third compost, one-third peat moss or vermiculite, and one-third sand. Mugs & Cups – There is nothing more relaxing than a hot cup of something… tea, coffee or whatever takes your fancy. Whether you are enjoying some time to yourself or sharing the moment with family and friends, pouring your preferred beverage into a beautifully designed mug or cup adds an extra level of luxury to this time honoured daily ritual. The azalea leaf miner ( Caloptilia azaleella) is a much more serious pest, and dealing with an infestation may require removal of infected plants. Lightly scrape the bark for two inches above the cut end with a sharp knife – just enough to remove the outer bark in a few spots.
