About this deal

We may not be good for each other, but sometimes I feel like he’s the only guy who could ever love me." Lily gets dragged into a family luncheon by her older sister Rose. At the luncheon all three of her sisters think she's pregnant because she's not drinking. In actuality, she's remaining sober because her pretend boyfriend is "perpetually drunk". These extra characters become essential to the story as the plot unravels though the presence of some of them was a little random.

I'm not one of your conquests," he says in a throaty voice. "I know what you want, and you don't need to take it. I can give it to you... Let me try," he says, his hand cupping my face. "Let me try to be enough for you." While Rose is the perfect elder sister to Daisy and Lily, her sister’s sex addiction has affected her in more ways than one. Her clothesline was affected by her sister’s expose, just like her father’s business suffered. Rose knows that little can be done to change the past, but the future still had a lot to offer to her family. This smart young lady figures that she has to do something drastic to save her family’s reputation and her business. Isn’t this the part where our love overcomes our addictions? Where our problems magically solve from a kiss and a promise?' Some characters plopped themselves into the lives of Loren and Lily and refused to leave them alone which seemed a little unrealistic, though perhaps not in the face of addicts. On the surface, both these characters appear to be selfish and self-absorbed, but that’s addiction, isn’t it? The way their addictions dictate their behavior towards each other, their friends, and their family is portrayed in a very heartbreaking and yet also very realistic way. Both these characters tore at my heart as they were ruining their lives and their relationships with their addictions.Addicted to you revolves around two characters Lily and Loren, who are extremely flawed but it’s easy to understand why given their contrasting addictions. Their addictions have upended their lives for so many years without external support to deter them further from it. Lily's compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups and events she shamefully regrets. The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own. I swear it was like this book was written for me. It had all the elements I love in a story -- great writing, deeply flawed but lovable characters and an emotional intensity that kept drawing me further and further in. But when they go on a family boat trip, surrounded by open seas and limited male bodies in sight, Lily’s confronted with a big fear. Only one guy onboard can fill her addiction, and she’s sworn off going there with Loren Hale ever again. I don't personally like how a lot of things were cut from the drama and things got confusing here and there; especially when an episode ended in one place and the next one started in a different place and I'm sitting here watching it like, "What?!?! How did that even happened?? Or how did that even worked?" (I understand that some scenes were deliberately cut due to China's sensory issue, but at least make the continuity understandable.)

Before diving into this story you need to understand that this is not your average contemporary romance, you need to keep in mind that the protagonist’s flaws and addiction problems aren’t here to serve or embellish the romance by sorting out the blemished parts of the characters and with that providing a satisfying ending. I think what made me love this book so much is the fact I knew what I was getting myself into and that helped for not getting irritated or angry at some a lot of the protagonist’s actions. With that said shall we start the review. After carrying on this charade for years, something happens between this couple. They both come to realize their feelings are stronger than just friendship. They love each other as more than friends. Even with their addictions, they want to try. Try to turn what first started as a facade into something real. Become a real couple. Maybe Lo can drink less and maybe Lily can control her addiction to being only with Lo. Just maybe they can do this together… I didn’t just have sex for fun or because it made me feel empowered. I liked the high, the rush, and how it seemed to fill an emptiness that kept growing inside of me.”Family and strangers are suspicious about their relationship, and as the couple works to overcome these challenges, they realize that they are also addicted to each other. The journey to recovery starts when Lily and Loren’s purpose of helping each other overcome their flaws. While it is easy to tell that the couple will encounter more challenges if they choose to stay together, it is adorable that they’re dedicated to helping each other. Your name is spelled dumb. Why are you here? Literally nobody wants you here and they have said as much. Yes, thank you for that one time you helped carry Lo home because he passed out at your party, that was kind of cool of you, but now it's time to go. We've given you those comic books you never shut up about, now go away. Please and thank you. We lied for each other and hid our infidelities, playing the role of doting boyfriend and girlfriend. The deeper we sink, the harder it is to crawl out. I fear the moment when… someone discovers our secrets. At any moment, everything can crumble beneath us."
