About this deal

Designed to be more visually appealing and easier to navigate, Samsung's One UI is an augmented version of the Android operating system that comes preloaded on some of the company's most popular smartphones. The S21 Ultra is able to record 4K videos at 60 frames per second. It can also shoot 12-bit raw files. This means that the camera can edit the fine details of an image before sending it to your computer. Compared to the S20 Ultra, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a few key improvements. First off, let's start with the camera. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a stereo speaker setup that delivers clear and clean sound. It is also equipped with Dolby Atmos certified speakers. The built-in speakers are tuned by AKG. Those who prefer to use headphones will need to use a pair of headphones that support a DAC.

The S21 comes with a 6.2-inch Full HD display with dynamic refresh rate technology to offer up to 120Hz super-smooth refresh rate. Now, the refresh rate part is super cool, obviously. The display size also allows the device to stay as compact as possible without losing that large display feeling. But the Full HD resolution is a bit underwhelming because the S20 was offering 1440p instead of 1080p. Is the difference even that noticeable at this display size and pixel density? Not really, but it's not impossible to notice either, so make sure to keep it in mind if you have one of the recent Galaxy S models and looking to upgrade. Other than that, as with most Samsung phones, the display quality is still top-notch with super vibrant colours and high peak brightness. The New and Improved Chip It should come as no surprise that the quality of the images that the Galaxy S21 Ultra is capable of capturing are nothing short of exceptional. As with other high-megapixel-count flagships, the S21 Ultra doesn’t capture 108MP images by default – although this can be enabled in the settings – instead taking 12MP pictures in the auto mode. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra also has a telephoto lens. This 10-megapixel camera has 3x optical zoom. This is a sensible option for taking pictures of things that are far away, such as a sports event. A choice you don’t have to make, however, is whether or not to pay extra for a 5G model. All three phones come with 5G at no additional cost this year and the Galaxy S21 Ultra even supports Wi-Fi 6E connections (the first smartphone to do so), although the number of people likely to have a new 6GHz router at home is vanishingly small right now. The Galaxy S21 series is faster for two reasons: it marks the debut of brand-new chipsets, and the software has been streamlined just a bit, with the ever-evolving OneUI 3.0 interface tied into Android 11.However, wireless charging isn't quite as fast as a wired charger, so you may want to consider getting a wired charger if you want to get the most out of your wireless device. As some of you may already know, Samsung uses two different chips in their Galaxy S phones depending on the market and the UK is getting the other new and improved chip Exynos 2100 instead of the coveted Snapdragon 888. They are both designed by Samsung, so there isn't a compromise here. The Exynos chip is significantly improved and offers pretty much the same specs as the Snapdragon 888, so the performance should be highly satisfying for the S21 users. But only time will tell if there is any noticeable difference between them or not. Massively Improved Cameras and Decent Battery

Taking the top prize here is the new RAM Plus feature, which allocates up to 4GB of virtual memory for you to use for your favorite apps. This new feature isn't customizable, but it does boost your multi-tasking capabilities.

Not that there’s much need to tweak the camera settings, though. Open up the camera app and you’ll be treated to wonderful, detail-rich images that are filled with vibrant colours and rich, intricate details. I was particularly impressed with the portrait mode, which you can see here side-by-side with the iPhone 12 Pro: We also tested the screen brightness of the Galaxy S20 Ultra outdoors, and it automatically amps up to a super-bright 1,500 nits when necessary. Other phones with AMOLED screens, including the S21 and S21 Plus, max out at 1,200 nits, and every little bit helps in direct sunlight. Camera improvements include enhanced noise reduction in low-light conditions, as well as the ability to slow down multiple instances in a single slow-mo video. You can also grab a still image directly from 8K footage, and add virtual lighting in portrait pictures.

Samsung's Ultra series superphones are meant for the consumers that want the absolute best of the best in their phones and the S21 is providing just that kind of an exceptional experience with top-tier features and specs in all relevant areas imaginable. With an attractive new design, powerful the Exynos 2100 chip and a larger display, the S21 will not disappoint the power users. On top of all that, the price has been reduced too. Compared to the last year's S20 Ultra's launch price, the Ultra is more affordable to find its place in this troublesome global economy. Super-Smooth and Colour-Rich Display Powered by a massive 5,000mAh battery, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is a powerful device that can last for days. However, the battery performance of the device will vary depending on how you use it, of course. With the Android 12 update, One UI has been updated with some nifty new features, including a new home screen widget that allows you to easily access your favourite apps. Bokeh Mode, Face Detection, HDR, AI Features, Smile Detection, Night Mode, Panorama, Portrait Mode, Automatic Mode, Burst Mode, Stereo Recording, Scene Detection, Slow Motion, Time Lapse It features a 6.8 inches Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that has a 1440 x 3200 pixels resolution. The rear camera of the smartphone consists of a penta-camera that consists of 108 MP (2nd gen) (wide) + 10 MP (periscope telephoto) 10x optical zoom + 10 MP (telephoto) 3x optical zoom + 12 MP (ultrawide). The need for resolutions higher than Full HD among smartphones was being driven by VR headsets – you could see a ‘screen door effect’ at lower resolutions when the pixels were so close to your face. But Samsung, along with the entire mobile industry, seems to have cooled all phone-based VR initiatives.

This is still Samsung’s best screen, but for many other reasons. We found the 6.8-inch body to be easier to grasp than the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max, and that’s in large part thanks to the curved display and overall narrowness of Samsung's device. The curved edges are subtle on the S21 Ultra, and not quite as pronounced as on past Samsung devices, and that means fewer errant presses. One of the most important features of a wireless charger is that it allows you to charge your device without a cable. Having a stereo speaker in your phone can make a big difference in the audio experience. Using a pair of speakers means that you will get richer and deeper audio.Bokeh Mode, HDR, Panorama, Night Mode, Portrait Mode, Stereo Recording, Face Detection, Gesture Recognition, AI Features, Scene Detection, Video Photo, Slow Motion, Time Lapse Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is here in the UK and, if you're able to afford it, it's ready to buy on contract (Pay monthly) or Sim-free.
