About this deal

this is excellent for fading. as mentioned some of the sizes actually go up in 0.2mm incriments before moving up to 0.5mm and then 1mm.

To maintain this look, set the trimmer to a short length setting of 0.4mm. Want a long beard? No problem – just adjust the zoom wheel. As a man who takes pride in maintaining a well-groomed beard, the Philips Beard & Stubble Trimmer BT5502/13 has become an indispensable tool in my grooming arsenal. This trimmer offers several features that have significantly enhanced my grooming routine, but there are a few areas where it could use some improvement, which is why I’m giving it a candid 4-star rating. mm steps between 0.4–2 mm for a precise short beard style; 0.5 mm steps between 2–5 mm to achieve an even 3-day beard; 1 mm steps above 5 mm for long beard maintenance. Double sharpened full metal blades that cuts more hairs in every pass for faster trimming with rounded blade tips for skin-friendly performanceA 3-day beard is a good compromise for a lot of men – not quite clean-shaven, but not so long as to be unruly. The innovative Lift & Trim Pro system guides the hair towards the blades for an effortless trim in less strokes

This is a product that does only one thing – okay, technically, two things, since it trims and shapes beards and stubble of various lengths – and does them very well. Easy to use wet, dry or in the shower. Simply rinse your waterproof beard trimmer under the tap to thoroughly clean it.The waterproof feature of the BT5502/13 trimmer is also worth mentioning. I absolutely love that I can comfortably use it in the shower or clean it under running water without any worries. This not only simplifies the cleaning process but also ensures the trimmer’s longevity. The convenience of waterproofing cannot be overstated when it comes to grooming tools, and the BT5502/13 trimmer certainly delivers on this front. The blades are poilished stainless steel and measure a fraction over 3cm across, the blades utilise Philips Lift & Trim Pro System and are very smooth with no nipping or catching. The blades also claim to be self sharpening and require not oil to maintain. I did have a Braun shaver years ago and eventually over time it started to nip and tear, we'll just have to see how the Philips hold up, they all start up perfect, but the real test is how they trim over time and repeated use. The trimming really is extra smoot and does not even nip or struggle cutting denser areas of stubble. if it could have done that I could have replaced 2 of my trimmers and gone down to 3. but i'll still need my other one for that. when looking for these trimmers I struggled to find all specific sizes written so i'll list them here. it comes with 2 combs:

The specially shaped “Lift & Trim Pro” beard comb, with its smooth, rounded tips, helps to lift and guide hairs towards the blades, ensuring your beard is cut evenly, with no unsightly, straggly hairs left over. Many adjustable trimmers feature a vertically-oriented, mechanical adjustment wheel for modifying the cutting length. Adjust your combs with the zoom wheel to your preferred trimming length and achieve the beard style you want. Use the short beard comb for 0.4–10 mm length settings or the long beard comb from 10–20 mm.
