This wasn't really fun, there was only some token forced humour (which wasn't funny), and the tension was flimsy at best considering how painfully oblivious the non-sex industry folks were to who was both starring and working on this movie. I spent the night oscillating between wanting to vomit and wanting to saw my own hands off with a rusty butter knife.
The literal bed could have been on literal fire, and I still would have been there, pumping into my girl like a man possessed. I love the small town romance aspect, but not just any small town, one of the small towns we see in Hallmark movies! The plot set-up was super fun and I liked Bee, and the representation felt super natural and just really nice to read about. Same reason I won’t read The Thorn Birds or that book by Tiffany Reisz – sorry I can’t remember the title – there’s a whole series I believe).
At least she does this for her own reasons and not because she’s ashamed or due to any kind of pressure from Nolan but I really would have loved her to continue it for at least a little while – there is so little of that kind of representation in romance. However, based on the buddy read I was in for this book I don't think everyone expected it and it was a shock to the system for some.The side characters also added SO much to the story and I can’t wait to learn more about them in future books. if you can somehow squeeze this into your reading agenda before the 25th, i would definitely recommend. Bee and Nolan spend the story trying to fight off their desire while also trying to hide secrets that could be the end of them. Legit, this story could have been cut down to 250 pages because it’s just so fucking unnecessarily wordy. There were so many positive conversations around body positivity, sexuality, mental health and sex work, this is what made me love this story so much more. Bee shook her head, dropping her hand from my face so fast you’d think my jaw was made of exploding phone batteries.
En cuanto a la trama este libro es buenísimo, a mi me gusto mucho, pero es una lástima las condiciones en que llegan. From how she embraced her body and her career in sex work to how she knew exactly what she wanted in and out of the bedroom and refused to settle for less. This is just as bad as a shitty hallmark film, except it is 400 pages long, so you end up spending 7 hours immersed in this god-forsaken Christmas story.Ebooks fulfilled through Glose cannot be printed, downloaded as PDF, or read in other digital readers (like Kindle or Nook).
