About this deal

I use my pointer finger almost holding still in the middle top of the ball while my middle finger turns the ball in either direction up or down.

On the right side of the device, we find a round push button to switch DPI and pair it with a Bluetooth device. It has two scroll wheels for vertical and horizontal scrolling, and it offers a lot of customization options, including CPI adjustments. I like the low profile of the mouse as it fits nicely below my monitor and still allows room for my palm and fingers; my other much older Kensington trackball is too large for that location and my newer CST trackball is also o. At a glance, you'll have a tough time spotting the difference between the old SlimBlade and the new. All Trackball Reviews • Compare Trackballs • Trackball Top 10 • Affiliate Disclosure • About TrackballMouse. After years with a typical mouse, there was a learning curve for me when switching to the Kensington Slimblade Pro Trackball. Then when you switch the sliding button on the left side of the SlimBlade to one of these settings (USB 2. The new SlimBlade has updated those sides with a dark grey rubber, without the flap or magnets that connect it to a keyboard. Looking from the top, you can see four large buttons that are part of the body, covering almost the whole surface.

Also, unlike what this review says it’s very easy to keep the pointer in place without it moving a single pixel while scrolling. Very cool and easy way of scrolling, but because your pointer moves slightly during scrolling one could say it is not as perfect as the large scrollring found on the Kensington Expert or Kensington Orbit with Scrolwheel. We supply the latest technology solutions to organisations of all sizes across education, public and private sectors, helping thousands of organisations along their own digital transformation journeys. UPDATE 2022: there is a new, updated, wireless version of this trackball, the SlimBlade Pro, read more here. The SlimBlade trackball works immediately when you connect the beautiful and unique USB chord to your computer, but I would recommend installing Kensington’s TrackballWorks and SlimBlade software to really take advantage of all the features of this trackball.During the scrolling the trackball locks down all other movement, and trackball doesn’t jump between scrolling and moving the cursor. KensingtonWorks is simple, easy-to-use software that allows you to customize the buttons, pointer speed, and scrolling speed. Kensington SlimBlade Trackball - Wired USB Features Multi-function ball lets you easily navigate through your music, pictures and documents using media or document view mode Keep an eye on which application you are in and which function is being performed with the heads-up display on your monitor With its low-profile shape, you'll be able to use it comfortably for hours on end The sleek stationary design optimises your desktop space Gain fingertip access to image and media controls Control cursor and scrolling; volume, play/pause, stop, and next; zoom in/out, and pan, all with the ball Warranty SlimBlade? At first, you might think the chrome ring around the ball works as a scrollring, similar to the Kensington Expert, but alas, this is not the case.

Also, the plastic shell feels a bit cheap, and the buttons feel especially flimsy and actuate quite easily. m Cables Included 1 x USB cable - integrated OS Required Microsoft Windows 7 or later, Apple MacOS X 10. The Kensington SlimBlade Trackball and the Kensington Orbit Wireless Trackball with Scroll Ring are both stationary trackball mice designed for office use, and they perform similarly well, but with some key differences. I actually really like that you can still connect it via the USB cable as well, that’s a fantastic option to have, to connect it quickly to another device, or just have a 100% solid wired connection. I’ve seem some negative reviews about the scrolling, and reading them feels like the reviewers didn’t spend much time to really test it.Although the mouse lacks onboard memory, you can save your settings to cloud storage, like Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, or back up your saved settings to your computer.
