About this deal

She chose her pseudonym out of admiration for the novel, “Lolita”, by Vladimir Nabokov, and the painter Tamara de Lempicka. Although I personally associate them very strongly with a specific time period, they were wildly popular for a reason and still smell great today. my LL is made in 2013(it's scent has not changed even a bit in ten years) and it has moderate longevity and sillage on me. The staying power is amazing and at a fraction of the cost that both old and new versions are going for.

cant say i could've smell cherry as many people say it, maybe only after 3-4 hours on the skin, but not immediately after spraying. Trying it again now, 20 years later (yes, the formula has probably changed), I find it to be very heavy on the vanilla and praline which gives it a syrupy, thick sweetness. Lolita Lempicka fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Annick Menardo, Christian Dussoulier, Anne Flipo, Maïa Lernout, Maurice Roucel, Francis Kurkdjian, Christine Nagel, Benoist Lapouza and Caroline Dumur. In September 2012, Elle Fanning was chosen by Lolita Lempicka as the new face for "Le Premier Parfum". Given the name and the bottle design, I suspect the way the fragrance plays with perceptions of girlishness and innocence is rather the point.

The bottle is made of transparent glass in red in the shape of an apple and the golden cap has an engraved heart pierced with an arrow. I have a 2016 batch of this and it starts with a sugary sweet cherry with something that smells a bit like crisp celery to me. It's a spritz on pulse points, put on a super soft cozy sweater and pj bottoms, then curl up under a fuzzy throw with a kitty at my feet, to read on a chilly autumn evening kind of fragrance. I do love Mon Premier too, but it can be sickingly sweet and girlish, the original LL has a depth to it that Mon Premier lacks. Some may describe it as walking into an enchanted forest or a garden where geranium and roses grow like vines upon vines as they wrap themselves into perfect flower arches above you, almost intertwined with themselves in a pathway, as you walk through this very pathway to an ailing, blossomed tree where your friends are sharing a homemade cherry pie. But, it is with a heavy heart, that I state that I dislike this perfume on myself; I blame my skin - it is just too powdery. but I do feel that it is more so implied and hinted at with the icing sugar and almond, the marzipan of the bakewell tart. This will forever be a favorite -- my first "abstract" fra that got me so far down the rabbit hole that I'm now a full-on fraghead!

Today, it has one of the most popular perfumes in the market, as for example the apple shaped perfume that bears her name, also Lolita Lempicka, the perfume for women and Si Lolita. Its close to Guerlain's La petite Robe, but much better and is less sour cherry, that was so atrocious/sharp in La petite. Definitely doesn't smell even remotely like Le Petit Robe Noire (which I have and love also) or LPRN Intense (same-have it, love it). I can say though that this is a unique scent for sure, and I understand why other people might like it for it's unique qualities, but if you don't like licorice (because I'm pretty sure it's the licorice) I really don't recommend it. Tantalizing shades of the leitmotif smoothly flow into a long-lasting haze with a variety of overflows and a juicy aftertaste, and the languid breath of the trail resembles an expensive accessory.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. While it shares a few notes, its quite different, but if you like one I can imagine you'll like the other. Every now and then I get a bit of tonka and vanilla, and the longer I wear it the sweeter it becomes but the florals and musk keep it from ever becoming sugary.

Mirroring my own misjudgment to see if I’d come back, if I was able to get off that high horse and revise my observations. In 2008, Lempicka released the floral scents Fleur Défendue and Fleur de Corail (Forbidden Flower and Coral Flower, respectively). Since its debut the scent in the iconic apple-shaped bottle has become a worldwide best-seller and perfumes have become as important to the brand as the dresses.Lolita Lempicka is the perfume of the elves of the Nordic forests, those humid and shady forests that are full of streams and trees full of ivy. She was big and tall, and walked very funny (I guess her love for 70s block heels and other sex worker white boots only accentuated her bad posture). The perfume was a crystal-like veil elevating the person who had it, defying gravity, fresh, subtle, clean and sweet, but also mysterious. I think this would smell best in cooler whether but honestly I can see this being a year round scent for those who like it. Lolita Lempicka is one of my favourite fragrances, and coincidentally, one of my favourite perfume bottles.
