About this deal

This particular train sounds just right because whilst I don't like the cold the idea of a Christmas market somewhere snowy and the Northern Lights as well would sell it to me. In this book the action level is set to high with a killer code and assassins on the loose, desperate to find it. There are several book sets that he has enjoyed in the past like the Elementia series and the Dave the Villager books.

A small niggle is that the books do at times strike the tone, just a touch, of left-leaning political content and green/environmental nonsense, but if you can look past this than the whole series is a really great read. Whilst waiting for the Narvik train he draws an orchestral group, one of the players sees and introduces herself. However, next morning Morti has left the hotel but left a set of keys for Uncle Nat so they can use her cabin. Like usual you suspect the wrong people at first, and I was convinced that some things that were important to the plot were totally irrelevant.Hal's talent for observation and art again helps them to solve the mystery of where and what the item is that the assassins are after.

With this instalment you didn’t really get that opportunity, although there were some nice twists and turns as the plot unfolded. As usual, I won't post any spoilers, though I will say it was a brilliant read, with twists and turns all through the journey. Then again, there’s another, unexpected helper, who turns up on her hunch that something is seriously wrong for Hal and his uncle.

Despite the illustrations being printed in black and white, you can easily imagine the colours painted in. I enjoy the relationship between Hal and his Uncle and this time Hal's mum is in the story which adds another dimension to the family relationships. The Arctic Railway Assassin can be read as a stand-alone novel, or enjoyed as part of the Adventures on Trains series.Your selection was perfect for our children and what really made the difference was your ability to engage with each child, discuss their interests and help them to choose a suitable book based on your extensive knowledge of the books you were selling. I’ve absolutely loved this series from the 1st book, ‘The Highland Falcon Thief’ through to the 6th, and seemingly final, instalment. In Book 6 of the marvellous Adventures on Trains series, Hal and his uncle Nate have another mystery to solve.
