About this deal

One of several variations on the crumbliest, tastiest chocolate, this turn-of-the-century product saw Cadbury put their white chocolate into a standard Flake. I used to carefully bite off the milk chocolate, then shave off the bubbly white chocolate with my teeth, then there would be a slightly thicker bit of milk chocolate around the biscuit which I would carefully nibble off, leaving just the chocolate flavoured biscuit which was, by now, just asking to be snaffled. You couldn't get a much better party snack in my opinion, although some people didn't feel the same.

While Fry’s Chocolate Cream and Peppermint Cream bars still exist, earlier variants orange, raspberry, lime, strawberry and pineapple are sadly no longer around. The Trio was a toffee flavoured biscuit bar first produced by Jacob's and proved to be a popular snack in the 1980s, however Jacob's stopped producing the bars, which came in a red wrapper, in 2003. If you could get through one of these without spitting it out, you were going to be the coolest kid in the playground, at least for a day. First launched in 1995, the bubbly Cadbury chocolate in mint flavour stuck around for eight years before being taken off the shelves.

Remember the clean-up operation when you'd accidentally rip open the packet and the balls went EVERYWHERE. But with its wholemeal biscuit base, it was surely still one of the healthiest chocolate options out there. These were the MUCH tastier sibling of Black Jacks – the raspberry and pineapple flavour was a match made in heaven. The tasty milk chocolate bar was wrapped in a blue wrapper with ‘Cabana’ written in a sunset orange across the front. Trying to choose between the coconut flavour in the red wrapper or the peanut bars was one of the biggest decisions we made as a kid.Not only did Cadbury then take these away from us, they also stopped selling Dream bars on their own, too. The Dream also went the way of the Flake Snow, despite a high-profile tie-in with Coronation Street. Essentially two Cadbury’s chocolate fingers spiralled into straws, the Spira was once the North West’s second most popular chocolate bar, but by 2005 had fallen way behind the similarly tea-dunking-friendly Twirl.
